Description
The Unicorn is a beautiful white horse with a single spiraling horn of ivory or silver. It is a creature of purity and Lawful alignment. Only a pure maiden-warrior may approach, touch, or ride a Unicorn without triggering an attack.
Special Abilities
Magic Resistance: Unicorns resist magic as an 11th-level Magic-User. Most spells simply fail when cast at them.
Sense Enemies: A Unicorn can sense enemies at 240 ft, making surprise virtually impossible.
Dimension Door: Once per day, a Unicorn may Dimension Door itself (and a rider) up to 360 ft.
Combat as Heavy Cavalry: On the first charge, the Unicorn attacks with its horn as a lance (doubled damage). Thereafter it fights as a medium horse with horn and hooves.
Rider Restriction: Only a pure maiden-warrior may ride or approach a Unicorn willingly. Any other character who approaches within reach will be attacked.
Tactics / Encounter / Notes
Unicorns are not encountered in lairs — they roam free. They will never associate with Chaotic creatures. A Unicorn may bond with a worthy rider and serve as a mount of extraordinary capability.
