Description

The Gorgon resembles a massive bull covered head to tail in overlapping iron scales. It exhales a cone of petrifying vapor that turns living creatures instantly to stone. Its iron scales make it nearly impervious to normal weapons.

Special Abilities

Petrifying Breath: The Gorgon can breathe a cloud of petrifying gas in a cone up to 60 ft long. All creatures in the area must save vs. petrification or be turned to stone. The Gorgon may use this breath weapon instead of its physical attacks.

Iron Scales: The Gorgon's iron scales grant its exceptional armor class. Only magical weapons can reliably harm it (normal weapons can still hit but are less effective — Referee's discretion).

Not Intelligent: The Gorgon is a dangerous animal, not a thinking creature. It attacks anything in its territory.

Tactics / Encounter / Notes

The Gorgon uses its breath weapon first, then charges to gore any survivors. It has no fear and does not retreat. Groups should avoid bunching up to minimize breath weapon casualties.
