Description
Centaurs have the upper body of a human and the lower body of a horse. They are semi-intelligent, fiercely proud, and deeply territorial. They dwell in hidden forest glens far from human settlements.
Special Abilities
Two Attack Forms: In melee, a Centaur attacks as both a man (weapon) and a medium horse (two hoof strikes). This gives them three attacks per round.
Mounted Charge: On an open charge, a Centaur attacks with a lance-equivalent weapon dealing doubled damage (as cavalry).
Weapons: 50% carry clubs, 25% carry lance-like spears, 25% are bow-armed.
Tactics / Encounter / Notes
Centaurs favor the charge and prefer open ground. Bow-armed centaurs fight at range, using their speed to stay out of melee. They protect their hidden glens fiercely.
5% chance the encounter is at their lair (hidden glen, very rarely found by outsiders).
Treasure
Centaur lairs contain Type A treasure.
