Description
Invisible Stalkers are creatures summoned from the Elemental Plane of Air by a 6th-level spell. They are permanently invisible and leave no footprints. They will track any target anywhere in the world and pursue until the mission is complete or they are destroyed.
Special Abilities
Permanent Invisibility: Invisible Stalkers cannot be seen by normal means. They are detectable only by Detect Invisible, magical sight, or by the disturbances they cause (disturbed dust, shaking objects).
Faultless Tracker: An Invisible Stalker will track any designated target without fail, across any terrain, any distance, until it completes its mission or is destroyed.
Only Magic Weapons: Only magical weapons can harm an Invisible Stalker.
Dispel Magic: A Dispel Magic cast on the Stalker will destroy it and end the mission.
Tactics / Encounter / Notes
Invisible Stalkers are not encountered randomly — they are always on a specific mission. They attack from ambush, using their invisibility to ensure surprise. They are incapable of retreat.
Resentment of Service: Invisible Stalkers resent long or trivial missions. If forced to serve for extended periods or given absurd tasks, they will pervert the letter of their orders — technically completing the mission while ensuring the result is not what the summoner intended.
Treasure
Invisible Stalkers carry no treasure and have no lair.
