Description

Gray Ooze is nearly indistinguishable from wet stone or bare rock — it is found on dungeon floors, seeping along the bases of walls. It moves with glacial slowness but is highly corrosive.

Special Abilities

Corrodes Metal: Like a Black Pudding, the Gray Ooze corrodes metal objects on contact. Armor struck degrades rapidly.

Acid Damage: 2d6 damage per turn to exposed flesh.

Cold and Fire Immune: The Gray Ooze is immune to both cold and fire attacks.

Vulnerable to Lightning and Cutting: Lightning and chopping/slashing weapons deal normal damage to Gray Ooze.

Resembles Stone: A Gray Ooze looks exactly like a patch of wet stone. Discovery requires careful examination or experience.

Tactics / Encounter / Notes

Gray Ooze is encountered on the floor of dungeons. It will not move to attack unless a creature comes within reach. It has been responsible for many a stripped boot or dissolved greave. Use lightning bolts or edged weapons to destroy it.

Treasure

Gray Ooze carries no treasure.
