Description

Elves are ancient beings who exist between the mortal world and the faerie realm. Two types are known: woodland elves (darker, more feral) and meadow elves (fair and courtly). Both are superb fighters and many know magic.

Special Abilities

Ghoul Immunity: Elves are immune to the paralysis caused by Ghouls.

Superior Archery: Half of all Elves are bow-armed; the other half carry spears. All Elves carry swords.

Split-Move and Fire: Elf foot soldiers may move, fire their bow, and move again in the same round (split-movement and fire), a tactic unavailable to most other troops.

Silent Movement: Elves move nearly silently through natural terrain.

Near Invisible in Gray-Green Cloaks: Wearing their traveling cloaks, Elves are extremely difficult to spot in woodland and meadow terrain.

Magic Weapons: When an Elf uses a magical weapon, add one additional die of damage.

Above-Average Fighter: One in 50 Elves is an exceptional fighter of higher level.

Tactics / Encounter / Notes

Elves prefer ranged combat, using their split-move-and-fire ability to maintain distance while dealing damage. They melt into woodland cover and are nearly impossible to track if they do not wish to be found. They avoid direct frontal assaults.
